His approach to IVF results in maximal pregnancy rates for each individual case. Dr. Potter has a large patient following here in Australia and has appeared on both 60 Minutes Australia and the Today Show (Australia). Dr. Potter has long been a strong advocate for reproductive freedom and equality including compensated egg donation, compensated surrogacy, single parenting and same sex parenting. Dr. Potter serves as the Medical Director of HRC Fertility, the largest fertility practice in the western United States as well as the Laboratory Director for Natera, Inc., a genetics testing company. Dr. Potter is the author or co-author of dozens of peer reviewed scientific articles and serves as chairman of the Medical Advisory Board for the American Fertility Association.

Doctor Potter’s research activities have always focused on developing technologies that improve the patient experience by increasing IVF pregnancy rates and reducing multiple births. Doctor Potter is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise, particularly in the areas of pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), gender selection and third party reproduction. To date, patients have travelled from all 50 states and 74 different countries to seek care with Doctor Potter for these services. As Laboratory Director for the genetics company Natera, Doctor Potter was integral in the development and implementation of 24-chromosome PGD as well as pioneering its introduction into routine clinical practice. Doctor Potter’s current research activities include the development of GenderSure™ PGD, the Thrive-IVF phase-2 clinical trial as well as work with single embryo transfer, gender selection and egg freezing.

As an author or co-author, Doctor Potter has published more than a dozen peer-reviewed scientific articles and over 50 of his scientific abstracts have been presented at major medical conferences throughout the world. Doctor Potter also co-authored the popular book What To Do When You Can’t Get Pregnant: The Complete Guide To All the Technologies for Couples Facing Fertility Problems (second edition) (Marlow and Company, New York, New York 2013).
